Anne Ehrlich joined the Woodbury University team in July 2005.  As Dean of Students, she supervises the various areas within the Office of Student Development, serves as the chief judicial officer, advises the Associated Student Government, and works closely with parents and families.  Anne earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC San Diego, a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan, and a Doctorate in Education from UCLA.  Prior to coming to Woodbury she held positions in Student Affairs at both Whittier College and the University of Michigan.

Ruth Luna, MBA

Ruth Luna has been a member of the Woodbury community since 1996. For the past six years she has provided academic advising to the adult student population.  A Woodbury alumnae herself, Ruth has gained great popularity among the adult student population—undergraduate and graduate—through her ability to relate first hand to students’ issues and act as their advocate, and has received the Advisor of the Year award for several consecutive years.  Ruth has published scholarly works in “The Mentor” and “Recruitment and Retention in Higher Education.” She was inducted to the Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society in January 2000.  She also serves as advisor for the Weekend Associated Student Government, Phi Sigma Sigma National Sorority, and the Lambda Psi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society, and performs as a regular sounding board for the MBA association.

Yvonne Correa joined Woodbury University in August 1999.  Her responsibilities include overseeing campus services such as security, parking, dining services, the bookstore, and support for international students.  Yvonne also markets and coordinates on-campus conferences and special programs. She earned a Master in Business Administration at Woodbury University, and is an active member of Toastmasters International and Alpha Sigma Lambda and Delta Mu Delta academic honors societies.

Monica Valdivia came to Woodbury as a mental health counselor in Fall 2006. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of La Verne and her master's degree from Phillips Graduate Institute.  Monica is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and is on campus three days a week available to see students for short term therapy and provide groups and presentations.  Monica's area of intrest includes working with diversity issues and finding a balance between family, relationships, and stress during the college years.

Theresa Somerville has been a registered nurse for more than 16 years, specializing in community nursing prior to joining Woodbury as the campus nurse. She graduated in 1987 from Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills with an associate degree in nursing and obtained a baccalaureate degree in nursing and public health nursing from the University of California Dominquez Hills in 2002.  Theresa teaches first aid and CPR for the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. She holds a vocational teaching credential in nursing and teaches the nurse assistant and home health aid programs at the American Red Cross. Theresa completed a course for Certified Emergency Response Team (CERT) for Los Angeles County in 2003. She is a member of the American College Health Association.

Janice Blair joined the Woodbury team in August of 2005.  Janice facilitates student leadership development on campus, advises the Greek Council and the Program Board, and coordinates all student organizations. Janice also coordinates campus events in collaboration with student groups and various campus departments.  Most recently, Janice was an Area Coordinator for Residential Life at Whittier College.  Prior to that she received her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration at Grand Valley State University, held internship positions at the University of Colorado, Boulder and Angelo State University through the Association of College and University Housing Officers International (ACUHO-I), and received her Bachelor's degree in Zoology at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Jocelyn Ramirez-Blanco graduated from Woodbury in 2006 and joined the team as a professional staff member shortly thereafter.  As the Intake Advisor, Jocelyn provides first-line academic advising to students in all majors within the traditional and non-traditional programs.  She also coordinates the International Peer Advisor program, a support system for incoming international students that assists them in their transition to Woodbury.

Verletta Jackson has been with Woodbury University for two years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and is presently working on her MBA at Woodbury.  Verletta is the Program Coordinator and assistant to Dr. Phyllis Cremer.  As program coordinator Verletta assists in classroom scheduling for academics, meetings and social events.  She also oversees the hiring and program scheduling for OASIS. She sits on several university committees and is co-advisor to the Black Student Union.

Evelyn Alfaro is a recent graduate of Woodbury.  As a student, she worked in Financial Aid, the Registrar’s Office, and the Learning Center.   She joined the Office of Student Development and Academic Success as a professional staff member in 2006, and is eager to continue assisting students in any way she can.

Business of
Entertainment

Woodbury University's School of Business and Von Johnson & Associates, Inc. (VJA) will co-sponsor the fall edition of The Business of Entertainment Lecture Series on October 16. The series is free to the public and will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Fletcher Jones Foundation Auditorium on Woodbury’s main campus at 7500 Glenoaks Blvd. in Burbank. This series features timely information and discussion on issues facing the filmed entertainment industry - the region's number one employer.  Previous topics have included production financing, piracy, 3D exhibition, technology disruption, Internet distribution, VOD and international theatrical distribution.  Stay tuned for details, including guest speakers, topics, and program information!
