Woodbury professors offer guided tour of LA


Woodbury faculty members recently took participants at the New Directions in the Humanities conference on a guided tour of Los Angeles, alighting upon significant sites of landscape architecture, literature, and interior spaces. Faculty members Emily Bills, Elisabeth Sandberg, and Randy Stauffer conducted the hour-long workshop, “Beyond Banham: Touring Los Angeles’s Alternative Ecologies," as part of ”8th International Conference on New Directions in the Humanities at UCLA. More

Architecture prof's work named one of 40 best


Sara Daleiden, adjunct faculty in Woodbury University's School of Architecture, has had her work selected as one of the 40 best public art works in the United States and Canada. Chosen from more than 300 entries, the organization Americans for the Arts singled out the 40 for reflecting the most exemplary, innovative permanent or temporary public art works created or debuted in 2009.  More

Junior Fellows address global economic crisis


The financial problems triggered by the home mortgage crisis that began in 2007 are still with us. Eleven Woodbury students who were chosen as The Junior Fellows in Transdisciplinarity recently collaborated with Dr. Douglas Cremer, dean of the Institute of Transdisciplinary Studies, in a special seminar to address issues related to the global economic crisis . Fashion marketing grad launches Etsy U


Check out Woodbury graduate Erica Macaranas' article  A Student's Guide to Jet-Setting in Style on Etsy, the leading Web marketplace for handmade goods. She used her experiences on a Woodbury trip to Paris, Florence, and Rome as the basis for her Etsy U travel-made-easy recommendations. Macaranas is the founder and  leader of Etsy U, an Etsy team for college students that allows its members to network, interact, and promote their shops while supporting each others' creative and academic interests.  More

Woodbury University's School of Business and Von Johnson & Associates, Inc. (VJA) will co-sponsor the fall edition of The Business of Entertainment Lecture Series on October 16. The series is free to the public and will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Fletcher Jones Foundation Auditorium on Woodbury’s main campus at 7500 Glenoaks Blvd. in Burbank. This series features timely information and discussion on issues facing the filmed entertainment industry - the region's number one employer.  Previous topics have included production financing, piracy, 3D exhibition, technology disruption, Internet distribution, VOD and international theatrical distribution.  Stay tuned for details, including guest speakers, topics, and program information!
