Interior architecture profs take grand prize


Two Woodbury interior architecture adjunct faculty members were part of Tracy A. Stone Architect’s remodel of a historic carriage house that took the grand prize for old house renovation in the 2009 Remodeling Design Awards sponsored by Remodeling magazine. In addition to Woodbury faculty Tracy Stone and Donatella Cusma, the design project team included Emmet Ashford-Trotter. More

Woodbury to host 'Pop Cultural Literacy 101'


Woodbury University will host a series of screenings sponsored by ASIFA-Hollywood that will pay tribute to famed entertainers such as Spike Jones, Doodles Weaver, Maria Callas, Buck Owens, Cab Calloway, Muddy Waters and Dave Brubeck who had an impact on the golden age of animation. The first two screenings in the series, titled Pop Cultural Literacy 101, will take place Friday, July 10, and Friday, Aug. 14, with a short subject starting at 7 p.m. and the feature film at 8:30 p.m.  More

A winner!

Sue Murray Holland, Class of 1957, is the proud recipient of the Mercedes Benz Smart Car that was donated to Woodbury University by Jeff and Penny Spellens (Class of 1970 and Class of 1974, respectively) with additional support from the School of Business Board of Advisors and School of Business Dean as well as other alumni and friends.  The car was made available by Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel.
The SmartCar FUNd DRIVE opportunity sweepstakes kicked off October 15, 2008 as a special premium included in Woodbury’s Annual Fund Drive.  More than 300 entrants were included in the drawing held May 9, 2009 after the day’s commencement ceremonies.
Andre van Niekerk, Ph.D., dean of the School of Business, was on hand to announce the winning stub pulled by Anita Minassian (MBA Class of 2009).  Holland, who now lives in Pomona, New Jersey, was a member of the Sigma Iota Chi Sorority and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration under a secretarial major.
