A winner!
Sue Murray Holland, Class of 1957, is the proud recipient of the Mercedes Benz Smart Car that was donated to Woodbury University by Jeff and Penny Spellens (Class of 1970 and Class of 1974, respectively) with additional support from the School of Business Board of Advisors and School of Business Dean as well as other alumni and friends. The car was made available by Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel. The SmartCar FUNd DRIVE opportunity sweepstakes kicked off October 15, 2008 as a special premium included in Woodbury’s Annual Fund Drive. More than 300 entrants were included in the drawing held May 9, 2009 after the day’s commencement ceremonies. Andre van Niekerk, Ph.D., dean of the School of Business, was on hand to announce the winning stub pulled by Anita Minassian (MBA Class of 2009). Holland, who now lives in Pomona, New Jersey, was a member of the Sigma Iota Chi Sorority and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration under a secretarial major. Woodbury’s annual fund drive provides scholarships and additional student services, and it’s not too late to participate! You still have until June 30 to renew your annual gift.
