Woodbury grad wins Oscar Designer Challenge
Did you see the Oscars? Then you saw the award-winning work of Woodbury alumna Rania Salibi. The 2008 fashion design graduate topped eight other finalists to win the Oscar Designer Challenge 2010. Her gown made of laser cut leather earned the most votes during an online competition.

More'Guerilla Urbanism' to hit the San Fernando Valley
Woodbury University is launching “Guerilla Urbanism,” a special research studio focusing on the San Fernando Valley. Developed with the idea of furthering last year’s research on the Valley with student installations of a guerilla art nature (all legal), Woodbury is affiliating with Buster Simpson, a prominent public artist, who will be working with the students on a 10-day proposal for reclaiming water at a Whole Foods store. In addition, Woodbury students will host a public salon at the Los Angeles public art organization Farmlab's facility next to the cornfields in the downtown area.

As part of the Pacific Design Center's West Week festivities, 10 pieces of work by Woodbury University graphic design students are appearing in EMERGE, the American Institute of Graphic Arts Student Design Exhibition. A reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 25. The exhibit runs through through April 2.
