Alumni of the Year
Woodbury University honors alumni each year during Founders’ Week celebrations in the Fall. The Alumnus of the Year award is traditionally presented to an alum who has demonstrated commitment to the university and to their community. Nominations are welcome and are reviewed by the president for final selection.
Alumni & Career Events
We offer a variety of events throughout the year for students, alumni, and employers to be involved in.
Some of our career development events include: school-specific job fairs, workshops, luncheons, alumni and industry panel discussions, networking events, portfolio reviews, on-campus interviews, and employer info sessions. We also offer events designed for alumni and the entire campus community, like our monthly alumni-association event series that feature concerts, theaters, museums, sporting events, and social gatherings.
Founders’ Week commemorates the time in October 1884 when Woodbury’s first students arrived for class in a building in the El Pueblo de Los Angeles on a dusty road near the Pico House in downtown Los Angeles. Since 1884, over 75,000 people have studied in the classrooms and studios at Woodbury.
Founders’ Week includes a variety of activities, including the Class Reunion Brunch, the University Appreciation and Recognition Lunch, and the Movers & Shapers Award Luncheon, as well as several other student and community-focused events and programs.
Other events on our calendar include the annual Alumni Cruise and the President’s Cruise.
There is an upcoming Phi Theta Pi - Alpha Iota Reunion in Las Vegas that will take place June 7-8-9. President Calingo will be the keynote speaker. It's an all class fraternity/sorority reunion. Please visit www.alphaphiwoodbury.com for more details.
Online Community
Woodbury alumni and current students are actively using online social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to reconnect and network with business professionals and friends. The Careers and Alumni Office has developed an active presence on all three of these sites and will continue to develop new ways to help alumni and students connect with the university and with one another.
